Yea, the fleas are kind of tricky.
It's the eggs taht get you. They can live in your carpet.
You can try giving her a bath, use Dawn dish soap first, then your shampoo,
(a friend of mine said it really works for her). Then put some flea power down on the rugs, leave it for a few hours before you vaccum. Make sure you use the Frontline every four weeks. Princess has not had a flea yet, I keep on top of it the best I can, she's almost three. But we did have a big problem a few years ago with our Rottie. It took weeks to get her Flea free, but it worked.
