Cry Crate/Potty Training Issues

Hi, I'm new to Yorkie Talk. My fiance and I just got a 5 month old male Yorkie for Christmas. He was from a pet shop and was used to going in his cage if he had the urge to go. This has made potty training difficult. He's does pretty good during the day and we take him out several times. He's picked up on the fact that if he potties when we take him out he gets a treat. But his problem lies in overnight. Every morning when I go to get him out of his crate I find he has pooped. He has never peed in it. Always poop and always overnight. I've wondered if it's because of anxiety. He has slowly developed some major separation anxiety while in his crate. If I leave the living room to go to the bathroom, he starts yelping. Same with if he sees me getting my keys and coat in the morning. He doesn't mind if my fiance leaves the room, but is attached to me. He's also started yelping at night and waking me up to where I can't sleep. I've tried taking him to potty when he does that but he just wants to play. I'm exhausted and I have a health issue that requires me to get enough sleep or I get sick. Please help!!! I'm so exhausted and my fiance and I are now thinking we may have to rehome Bailey (our new yorkie boy). I'm sad and disappointed.
