You attend dog shows and/or find a breeder through the YTCA. Like in everything, screening is important. Online mentoring will only take you so far. Think of it this way, how will an "online mentor" help you if your bitch has trouble whelping? Will you know what are the signs of distress? A seasoned, responsible, reputable breeder will, and will know what to do. But, if they aren't physically present, how will they be able to assist hands on if they're sitting behind a keyboard? There are too many limitations with an online mentor to be able to make this a safe happy experience for the female.
