I never wait things out. I would rather let a professional examine the dog than to make the wrong call. If it is something minor like the other light when Daisy bit Barney giving him a bloody nose, I just see how they are and won't rush to the vet. But if someone has pain or won't eat, we go to the ER immediately. Mine do *talk* in very clear body language and I know when something is not right. I would rather be overly cautious then live with regret and sadness.
