He needs confinement Do you have a crate for him or an xpen? Poor guy is doing his thing, but he needs to work on toys and acceptable chew things, not your apartment carpet and fixtures! He will not be able to get to bad things if you confine him when you cannot watch him, and take him out when you can supervise him. There are a ton of postings on crate training.
Also, I suggest getting some Bitter Apple spray and wet down whatever you don't want him to chew. Make sure you have plenty of chew toys available, and if you catch him chewing something he is not supposed to, tell him firmly NO, (but no yelling), make sure you replace it with a toy, and tell him Good Boy and praise him. Then as soon as you can, spray the thing he shouldn't chew with the Bitter.
With patience and repetition, you will redirect the bad behavior and replace it with a wonderfully well behaved pup!
