you should have him read on here then! tell him of the countless tales of someone who bought a "cheap" dog and ended up with a very sick, very unhealthy, or dead puppy because they decided that dogs aren't worth paying good money for. it's not something that i'm willing to ever go through again and i highly recommend that you try and explain that to him. dogs that come cheap almost always come from a backyard breeder or a puppy mill and they will come with health issues and problems. does he really want to deal with all that to save a few bucks. good luck on convincing him. do some research, the more you read on here the more you'll have to tell him about it. cheap dogs lead to a TON of money spent on vets. i'm talking tens and hundreds of THOUSANDS. now wouldn't it be cheaper to just spend roughly a thousand to a good breeder that backs their dogs and stands by their health guarantee than to get a terribly ill dog that if it lives will have a lifetime of health concerns sometimes costing $5,000 or more per problem??

just sayin.
