Yes, you probably can put it in the front seat, but I would be concerned about air bags...unless you can turn your air bag off... if you get in an accident, an air bag that deploys could be fatal to a little yorkie. The car seat is high enough that she would be able to see out the window which usually helps.... also much safer.
