I had 2 pads for my 2 boys and I eliminated the second one last week. So far, so good. Granted, the pads were closer together than your set up.

You could gamble and simply eliminate the pad in the dining room, or you could move the pad a few feet at a time. You don't have to do inches.

My boys have proved versatile in where I put the pads. When I clean or have another reason to move the pads from one end of the great room (40 feet long) to the other, they go wherever the pad goes.
