I may not have read this blog, had I not been keeping my son's 16 1/2 yr. old sheltie, Alladin...Alladin is blind and deaf, and it breaks my heart too...He's been w/me a week, and he too, has mapped the house out...I don't dare move anything, so as not to confuse him...I asked my previous vet, of 30 yrs., how you would know, when it was time to put a dog down, and he said, "when they don't wag their tail anymore"...Some of the best advice I've ever gotten...Alladin, still gives a very so slight wag, when I come in, so I know he still wants to be here...I'll be very interested to follow your blog...He seems to be able to see the shadows, outside, in the bright sunlight, but not so sure what he sees in the house...I've found myself leaving every light in the house on, to give him a little help, but not sure if he just follows his "house" map, or the lights...It's so hard, when these guys get old, but I guess we have to remember, if we're all blessed, we will also live to be a ripe old age too...Thanks for sharing, I'll be watching your blog...
