I just got back online and read your post. I'm sorry you had to go through what you did. Hopefully the next person to adopt your little girl from the pet store will be able to recognize the symptoms as you did. I sure understand about getting attached at a pet store. We held a Yorkie at a mall pet store, we actually went in to look at another kind of dog. The pet store clerk would not answer me when I asked how much for the Yorkie until we had him in our arms. Of course $1200 was too much for us, so we had to leave him behind. When we found Skippy, it was over the internet-the site looked great, it was only two hours from us, in Amish country, Ohio, Wooster, Ohio. We fell in love right away- we paid $750-- and we were on our way. Right from the start, the symptoms started. To make a long story short, he's okay now, after the giardia, kennel cough, yeast infection. I tell our sons that we saved him-and that we were meant to have him. The breeder also lied to us-she told us that he would be 7 or 8 pounds( on the big side) because we didn't want one too small. At the last vet visit, his wt. was 12 pounds. We love him soooo much so this doesn't matter, but it still bothers me that she got away with lying . You willl love your little sweetheart more than you can ever imagine- I'm so glad we got Skippy! You were meant to have your little boy- and the girl you took back was probably meant for someone else too. This might be a silly way of looking at it, but that's how I feel about our dog. Good Luck and have fun...it's kind of like having a new baby in the house ( at least that's what it reminds me of) !!
