I went a few years ago but remember that they have different vendors there selling you animal related items. I bought Duke's first leash there and they had very nice harnesses also.
There was also an area for the small dogs to run and play off leash. I brought a pee wee pad with me at that time so that Duke can use the rest room but if you don't want to, they have areas inside and outside for your dog(s) to eliminate.
Again this was a 2 or 3 years ago.
Edison maybe an hour or so from Manhattan by car.
there is a train station in Edison that you can take the train from NYPenn, but I wouldn't rec'd that because the event is on the other side of Edison from the train station.
