There's a date on the bag, but usually it's best to store in the bag, or a bag that you can squeeze excess air out of. I know people love their Tupperware, and if the food goes right to the top of the container, with little excess air on top, it will stay freshest the longest. A big container with 4 or more inches of air on top will not keep the food as fresh. Thoroughly wash containers after usage, because oils at the bottom can cause new food to go rancid faster. If you have room in the freezer, that's the best.
