Great post, so many people think it's to be used to prevent hypoglycemia, and it should only be used to treat it. If too much is given you can even cause an attack of hypoglycemia, remember Nutri-Cal is just sugar, with a minimal amount of vitamins, and Karo syrup is just corn syrup, which is sugar that goes into the blood stream fast. I brought Joey home at 12 weeks and he weighed 2 pounds 2 ounces, and he never suffered from hypoglycemia. Make sure your familiar with the symptoms. His breeder told us to free feed till 6-7 months.
