Age to be spayed can differ from Vet. to Vet. but size shouldn't be too much of a major concern since the tiny 3 pounders are spayed all the time. My first one was spayed at 13 weeks, the second at 4 months and the third at 16 weeks and all had the same easy recovery. I have a friend who's 2 pound Yorkie was spayed without any problems. I think it differs from dog to dog whether they do well or not. It's generally the anesthesia that's the problem and the person that give it too. Most Vets. give a test first to see if they will do well with it.
