Black tarry liquid stools as you described are a symptom of internal bleeding. Usually from the small intestine. Same with the brown vomit. Something is surely not right with this baby. He needs a new vet ASAP. If he remains this sick over the weekend IMO you should seek the care of an emergency vet. The (Met....) word you describe was the generic name of Flagyl....and yes it is used to clear bacterial infections in the gut.....small and large intestines. If this is a repeat of past problems it could be that your Yorkie has IBD. If so he will be ill over and over unless you maintain him on a strick special diet. You should discuss this with with your vet. Again I urge you to seek the advice of another vet. |
