does dehydrations cause crystals?
If i put just taste of the wild in her bowl and the crystals go away, that will mean it's the wellness BUT my question is, will they go away or do i have to use the RX food first before i do my trial?
what about treats? she loves her treats?
i'm sad. |
Dont give them treats at all. Did you Vet put you Furbabie on RX food to dissolve the Struvite Stones?
I have 6 Yorkies & Scruffy has had Struvite Stones twice in 4 months.
2 surgeries, last surgery was 3 weeks ago.
It was very scarry to watch my baby squat like a girl & strain to pee & nothing would come out. trips to the Emergency Vet to put a catheter in him to unclog him from the crystals being stuck.
He was on Hills S/D but would sneak the others food when a wasn't looking
& i gave them each a tiny Charlie Bear treat every day.
Well I messed up because that one treat cancelled out all the special RX Food he was eating. Scruffy & I both learned the hard way.
My Furbabies all have been on natural foods since they came home with me as a puppy. I was totally against the crapp that is in Science Diet But Scruffy's health comes first. We have switched all of my 6 Yorkies to Science Diet RX W/D Food for now & none of them get treats or even a tiny bite of table food now. The true test will come in a few weeks when Scruffy goes back to the Vet for his Urine Analysis to check for any signs of Struvite Crystals. So Please stick to the diet nomatter how sweet that little face stares at you and whines for treats!!! Good Luck!!!
