I have had 3 yorkies in my life. They are treated like they are my children. My husband and I do not have children of our own. We share our home with a very gentle loving shih-tzu.

I have looked on the internet and in the paper for reputable breeders. We are not looking for a teacup size. Just a standard size. If you could give us names of some good breeders to contact we would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you so much!!!
I see you are in Missouri, and unfortunately there are so many puppy mills there. I really encourage you to visit the breeder's home, and make sure that the dogs are properly cared for. Remember some breeders are no more than puppy salesman, and as we all know a good salesman knows how to turn on the charm. A good breeder doesn't necessary want you to like them, their desire is to find a good home for their dogs, and they want to learn if the Yorkie is the right dog for you and your family at this point in your life. I always recommend a breeder talk with a YTCA member. The YTCA is the mother club of the Yorkshire Terrier, and they sets the standard. Breeders try to produce dogs that meet standard, and are more likely to do the required health testing and stand behind their dogs. Since you've already owned a Yorkie, you have a very good chance of being found a good pet owner, and that's half the battle! Here's a link to the YTCA breeder referrals Yorkshire Terrier Club of America About The Club. By the way, my son has a Shih Tzu, and he gets along with Joey wonderfully, but Joey get a work out when the play together!
