Lady has been taking Zyrtec per my vet for about eight years now. This was before Zyrtec was mainstream for dogs. My vet called the NC State Vet School for a recommendation for an antihistamine that was not sedating for a dog with a laundry list of health issues (epilepsy, diabetes, etc.). The pharmacist at the vet school recommended Zyrtec and Lady has been taking it ever since with no side effects.

That was before Zyrtec was generic, too. I had to pay close to $90 for a bottle of 30 tablets!
