Hi! The leaves on ours weren't loose either - they were sewn on but not embroidered on. If you look closely the edges are loose and with Teddi being such a voracious chewer he began tearing them almost immediately!! I had to use a hem / seam ripper to remove them so I did not damage the trunk!
