I have read this many, MANY times and it makes me cry each and every single time. Can any one of you imagine our beloved babies put in that situation? Imagine they are the dog as you are reading the passage? I do and it physically hurts. That could have been him. That could have been one of his babies if I selfishly bred him for the sake of having cute puppies. There is really no one who benefits from breeding for the sake of breeding "just one time."
"We all had to start somewhere?" Really? Why not start with our own pets and have the cycle end there. Kaji is neutered and you better believe I made that choice with all the shelter animals in mind.
