As I had posted earlier, I picked up a stray. (San-Dee) I put an ad in the paper and flyers out by my mom's street and he has not been claimed. A friend of mine said that she had seen him around the highway the week before. So I am assuming that someone dropped him off.

He went to the vet yesterday for his check up and shots. He does have a level 2 heart murmur and needs to be checked every 6 months. I will keep him because I refuse to bring an animal to the pound to only be put down. Which means I will not be getting a female Yorkie any time soon, but I can handle that.

I have scheduled San-Dee to be neutered on January 16th and to have some cysts removed, because he keeps scratching them until they bleed.

My question: Am I wrong to have him neutered since there is a chance that he was not dropped off and is just lost. I am asking this because one of my friends said that I am cruel to do this to San-Dee when he is not actually my dog. I was wondering if more people share the same feelings and maybe I am wrong.

Any and all opinions will greatly be appreciated.
