Thanks all for the prayers and good thoughts. We took her to my husband's internest 2 weeks ago and he said loose weight. He said that about 3 times and my dtr was almost in tears. She can't exercise yet as her RA doctor wants to wait til her inflammation is down. But at least he took out 80 cc's of fluid off her right knee. One week earlier her RA doctor took out 60 cc's from the same knee. Both gave her cortisone injections. She did much better for about a week. The day after Christmas her left knee blew up and she could barely walk again. Her RA doc is on vacation so we begged another doctor in the group to see her on her lunch hour yesterday. We really liked this doctor and will be switching as Jessica's doctor is only there 2 days a week. She was so kind to Jessica and very understanding. She tool out 85 cc's of fluid off her left knee and gave her cortisone. For some reason her knee is still swollen, though better than it was. My dtr is taking the 12th off and we are going to this other doctor and she will be starting on an injectable RA drug, either Humera or Embrel depending on her insurance company's approval. Then if she didn't have enough problems her employer switched her insurance effective 1/1/11 and since she had to disclose the RA on the application no one wanted to take her. They put her on some plan and her boss gave her the information and on there was written effective 1/1/11 77.00 will becoming out of each paycheck for your insurance. She is barely getting by now and with this extra expense not to mention the medical expenses she will need a lot of help from us. She has been there pver a year with no raise and no vacation, but with the job market what it is she has to be thankful she has this job. Please keep her in your prayers as she starts on these new drugs. The side effects are scary. Thanks. |
