Royal Canin has LOTS of formulas! They do not all contain corn. The one I am feeding now has no corn and lots of the other formulas do not either. I think it is a good food. Maybe not the top premium food but mine do very well on it and relaly LOVE it. They will pick those little kibble out of whatever else I have ever mixed in.
I think some of the highest star foods on the dog food analysis site are too high in protein for yorkies. So, there is no one answer for everyone. I do not think it is right to say Royal Canin is a terrible food -- it is not! It might not meet the requirements some owners have put on their food but there has been plenty of testing and the nutritional value is there. Mine sure have a nice shiny coat and plenty of energy!
I don't always feed Royal Canin. I have thought of switching to a non-grain food just to see how they do. So, I am no super fan -- just saying it is not a bad food and no one feeding their dogs Royal Canin need feel bad about it! |
