if you don't want your pup sleeping with you (and there are a lot of good reasons for that), please dont make the same mistake I made....Edie was perfectly happy sleeping in her crate as long as it was in our bedroom. THen, my husband went out of town on business and I invited her up to the big bed for a "sleepover". SHE WOULD NOT GO BACK to the crate after that, and believe me, I tried.
It is a lot easier to have a pup who sleeps in the crate if you are going to have her visit relatives now and then (if you are traveling, for instance).
Just my 2 cents worth. I know you will enjoy the new puppy. Make sure you tell the vet about the cough. I think it could be significant that it happens after drinking water, so I would make sure to mention that. |
