You've been given some good advice here.

Your pup being 8 weeks is very young. The first 8 weeks of a pup's life all the pup needs is warmth, sleep, food and most of it's mother. From 8 to 12 weeks of age is when the pup obtains training from it's mother. It learns how to play, puppy manners and where it fits into the pack. The pup is being socialized by it's mother and of course the breeder. Since this didn't happen with your pup, you will now become the pups mom and socializer. You'll have to instill that confidence into him. Over handling, carrying the pup everywhere may make the pup overly dependent on you (over handling can bring on hyperglycemic attacks), so make sure your pup gets plenty of rest. What is needed is to reassure the pup that it is safe.

Make sure the pup has food and water readily available at all times. As stated restrict the size of the area where your pup is kept (you wouldn't bring a baby home from the hospital and put in the middle of the floor and tell it here's your house). Your pup has to earn the right to wander the house and requires boundaries. He's too young to begin potty training in earnest....go slow and don't expect miracles until about 6 months of age.

The NutriCal is a good product to have on hand, but be careful as over use can lead to Diabitis.

At 8 weeks of age, your pup hasn't obtained any vaccinations, check the library for Dr. Dodd's vaccination protocol, and no Lepto or Corona virus vaccines. As mentioned he shouldn't be taken out in public and take care with people entering your house, they can bring in dreaded diseases on their shoes.

Congratulations and Good Luck with your new pup.
