Anal glands can become impacted and they can rupture if they are expressed incorrectly.
It's hard to say what I would do without actually seeing your Teddi's little rear end, but if it is the anal gland that is irritated, I would take him to the vet.
Maximo's anal glands filled up/swelled after a vet manually retrieved a stool sample. This is when he was 13 weeks old. I took him back to the vet to have the glands expressed and they were full of fluid. When the glands immediately refilled, I talked to our breeder and she suggested feeding a few peas to bulk up the stool to express the glands naturally. The peas did the trick and neither of my dogs have ever had anal gland problems again.
I use frozen baby sweet peas that have no added salt. Microwave them for a few seconds, cool with water, mash them up. Serve half a teaspoon.
