When I got our Boston Terrier I did not tell anyone. We were having a celebration for my parent's birthdays. (They were both born 10.8 but a year apart) and when they came in she was sitting on my lap. Dad kept asking if I had bought her for my mom who always wanted one. We finally rehomed her with my parents due to personal issues and my mom is thrilled. So a surprise meeting worked well for me.
