When am I able to introduce him to Trixie??....she is my 1 year old yorkie. I think it is after he has had his third round of shots .... somewhere in the area of 16 weeks old but believe it or not, have forgotten already.
Also, what is the best way to introduce them....Trixie is still very very bouncy since she is only a year old....well socialized with other pups, but I want to make sure she is ...I don't know....gentle with him??? This will be her first introduction to a puppy...she is good with other dogs and people (okay maybe a little dominating) What is your advice. I would like these two to get along as my other friends have much larger dogs - goldendoodle and I cannot let her play with that puppy!!
Thanks. |
I would wait until after the third round of shots, if I were you. You also do not want to put her at risk in case the new puppy comes home with kennel cough or giardia, etc. Just a warning to be very careful of your own lil girl, too, until you know the new puppy is healthy.
I forgot to add that knowing most puppies, then you probably won't need to worry about her being a bit dominating. Most puppies dive in head first, so she may well be the one to find a hiding place after awhile.
