Don't feel bad -- I didn't know or realize what the New Posts button was my first year either. I actually go back to just looking for threads in the particular forums a lot, like when the "New Posts" are full of GE or Game posts. Don't get me wrong -- I have nothing against either of those -- I love the GE -- I was like a kid at Christmas! I even have played an occasional game. But on days when I have limited time and want some yorkie posts, I just go to the forums instead of New Posts if they happen to be clogged with the others.
The search has never worked well for me either. I am usually stunned if it does work. I still try it every once in a while. But usually it doesn't come close to what I am looking for. Then out of the blue, it will give me a valid search result. Who knows -- has a mind of its own and I think it has an iron-clad contract or tenure, or it would have been fired long ago.
