Baby food meats and veggies are a great way to start out feeding new puppies, or for pets recovering from sickness or operations and so on, but not for long term use as it just doesn't have the nutritional requirements dogs need.
You could grind up a nice roast, cook it then blend it with fresh carrots & green beans, add some beef broth, to a nice mush and start him out with that and gradually just make it less mushy till it's finally chunky. (You can also put the roast in the crock pot/slow cooker till it's falling apart, then use some of that broth to blend with the meat and veggies).
