Have you tried bonding with him more?
Teaching him tricks with treats he loves...going on a LONG walk everyday at the same time and having him stay beside you while walking with leash?
Does the Petsmart or Petco near you have good trainers. Can you ask them? I wish I was closer to you I'd love to come try to help. My old dog did that as a pup and it lasted his whole life. I hope you can nip this soon.
