Hi It sounds like the bands are working for you and Molly... if so, then there's no real reason to change.

The alligator clip backings hold very well, even on very little and/or very fine hair. I have tested them on just a few strands of my Bella's hair and they hold quite well. They have tiny teeth (which don't damage the hair at all) and are super easy to clip in.

The French barrettes also hold well but if you are concerned with them slipping off, I would suggest the following. Simply put the hair up in an band first, then slip the barretted bow through the hair just below the band. This will cause the bow/barrette to hold in place better and much more securely since it cannot slip off the top.
