Yes they sell the scissors at Petsmart. I trim Dudley myself most of the time except when I want him in a puppy cut. Then, I take him to the groomer. Yes you can trim him or her yourself around the anus etc. I trim his ears with a small clipper that I also bought at Petsmart and the scissors, and around the corners of his eyes to keep the hair out of his eyes. This solved the problem of his eyes weeping and wet streaks down his face. Hope this helps.
