By taking him out a lot, what do you mean? Are you taking him for nice long walks or are you just taking him out in the yard? If you take him for some nice, long walks every day, then he should be tired from that, whereas, just taking him out in the yard doesn't really give him the exercise that a puppy needs to get rid of pent up energy. Just some thoughts.
