Okay, I've gone back and forth about posting this, but I am going to.

Jodi, you say over and over again that you're being attacked because it's "you". And I think you are right about that. You have a very antagonistic style that rubs many people the wrong way. Have you considered how much more powerful your words would be and how much more good you would do if you worked on your approach?

I think you went way over the top with Sugar Mama, and honestly I have a hard time believing you didn't know it was her ad. At the same time, while it saddens me to say this since I think Sugar Mama is a sweet lady, the ad wasn't (and IMO, isn't) responsible. She should not be selling a puppy if she can't meet the buyers.

The truth of the matter is that sometimes you DO act like a bully, and that often distracts from what the real issues at hand are. Why do you give your critics so much material to work with?

It also seems to me that as aggressive as you are, you get extremely defensive if anyone challenges you. This also makes it hard to relate to you, because you are very eager to criticize, and yet totally closed to anything directed at you.

I respect the work you do, and I know you have a good heart. I just wish it were easier to see it sometimes.

Finally, I'd like to say that I know lots of people who do rescue work who are as sweet as sugar. Some of them started off that way, and some worked on it because they needed to deal effectively with the public. Working in rescue has 0% correlation with manners. Also, I really feel that when people use their charity work to defend themselves, they are using the charity inappropriately. You (generic you, not personal you) should give to your charity with your money, time, words, and deeds. Your charity should NOT give you a shield against criticism.
