Default Using treats with crate training/positive reinforcement

Hi all!
I have been using liver treats to help Jazi with her housetraining. She loves them, so that works, BUT, they are giving her diarrhea. Any suggestions?
Also, for the crate training... I was stuffing a "Kong" bone with some treats, but I don't want to do that any more because of the runny poos. Any ideas? When you have to get your pup into the crate, what do you do? Once she is in there, she just wimpers a little but then chews her bone and goes to sleep. However, she doesn't really WANT to go in. I keep reading about how the crate has to feel like a safe place and not a punishment... but how can I do that without giving her treats?
Thanks,
Jill
