If he can normally hold it, I wouldn't bother buying a belly band for this occassion. I did walk Kaji before we got to the airport, and I had a piddle pad on hand too. You can always take your little one to a handicap bathroom stall (because it's bigger) put the pad on the floor and give him a chance to potty before boarding. You could also try taking him to the potty mid-flight, but that might be too uncomfortable for the both of you in a tiny airplane bathroom. Also, I choose a night flight (red eye) and Kaji slept all the way. We (my family and I) all sat on a secluded row of chairs and used our carry on luggage to "fence" him in. We all watched the plane get ready and there was so much going on that by the time Kaji was on the flight, he was so tired. He just slept the entire way.
