At 7 months they are sexually mature. To avoid having your dog mark his territory, it is advisable to have them neutered at 6 months. Most dogs that are neutered before 7 months don't even lift their legs to pee.

As for the blood work. I would do what the vet suggests.

It's natural to be anxious about it. But it is the best thing for him and for you.
