Thor is very anti-burrow, so much so that if he sees me lift a blanket up, he will rear back on his hind legs and try to fight it.
One of the standard intelligence tests they give dogs is to throw a blanket over them and see how long it takes them to get out. I always felt like this was is biased against little guys like Thor, but sometimes when I didn't want to deal with him, I would throw a blanket over him and he would be totally immobilized.
To his credit, he did eventually figure out how to crawl out from under the blanket and do whatever I was trying to prevent (usually barking at visitors). But he clearly believes that when it comes to blankets, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
One thing I found interesting is that I moved his crate slightly so it's obscured from view, and he totally loves being in there now. It was always sort of behind a piece of furniture, but an extra foot or so made all the difference.
