Its important to keep water out of the ears at all times especially when bathing them. My little male gets smelly ears and i got somehting from my vet called Clean ear that breaks down the wax and i clean it lightly with an ear bud being very careful not to hurt their ears or put it in too deep. But it might be more serious and he could have an infection so get him seen by your vet first
