APRI is now allowing Parti's to compete and earn their championship, and it has been rumored that AKC and the YTCA are both contemplating allowing the Parti color to be showed seeing as how it is in fact part of their genetic makeup. I personally love Parti's and really want to own one, but I love ALL colors of Yorkies, cause its their personality, not their color that won my heart...
Ye like I said I personally believe in the lineage of Parti's based on older records I've seen presented, but it's still a debatable issue. Not so sure about chocolates and golds as they seem to fall under the genetic compositions of 'color mutations' or mutated gene results which produce off colors, rather than recessive genes outcropping which is widely attributed to the result of a Parti colored dogs in many different breeds. I also have a white miniature schnauzer-the AKC allows them limited registration here, but in Europe they have no hindrance as finally their lineage was proven via DNA testing and the verification of the authentication of the German term blond referring to white dogs in old records of the breed's initial bantamizing...but in America they still don't acknowledge white as being anymore than a disqualification and a color resulting from unknown origins...strange the country of origin authenticates a previously debated coloration issue and America and country they weren't really popular in until about the 1920's when Amsel was first entered in the schnauzer class (sorry totally kinda reaching for an example getting off topic) still won't uphold the coloration as a standard...strange.
APRI were you talking about the American Pet Registry Inc. I'd never heard of them prior to now...hmmm...how reputable are they it looks like I can just send in information about my dog and my dog will be registered.I guess that's cool though, a "pet quality" animal can compete and get some certification-am i reading their mantra correctly?
Any-who I agree even if the AKC doesn't yet recognize a breed or a coloration of a breed finding a breeder whom hold OFA certification (and does genetic testing of their line) for their dogs is imperative-they show they are breeding for health, and temperament above anything else, even if they are breeding strictly for pets they show they are breeding quality dogs.
I really hope the OP of this thread finds a reputable YT talk recommended breeder, if I ever add another Yorkie to my pack here I'd only go through YT to ensure the quality of the breeder-not to say anyone and everyone on YT is a quality breeder but I think the bad breeders don't get too far when they get found out on YT and there are so many breeders on here that are genuine in their efforts weather it be to preserve breed standards or to breed quality Parti's...
