I have had quite a few puppies in my life and never worried about one before.
But, when I brought my Yorkie home, I was a little nervous too. But, this was mainly because of all the things the person I got the pup from told me. He spent 45 minutes going over all the problems my pup could have, hypoglycemia, not eating, etc. etc. And, he gave me pages of printed material about what to do if I had any problems. Also, he told me to call him anytime 24/7 if I had any problems. He really gave me a lot to worry about.
And - honestly - I am not a worrier - I am just the opposite.
Well - I brought my little dog home and, like you, watched everything he did. What he ate, if he went to the bathroom, if he drank water, how much he slept, etc., etc.
Well - I had no problems at all. My little pup did sleep his little heart out (he was just a little baby), and he ate and drank well. Now, a month later, I have a little guy that has doubled in size and is running the whole household. He is peppy, happy, and very very playful. He still sleeps a lot, but not as much as he did. And - even my other adult dogs sleep a lot of the time - no problem there - it is perfectly normal. What else can they do?
Good luck - keep an eye on your little pup and don't worry!

PS: My little 14-week old pup can totally wear out my 4-year-old Bichon. If I need to worry about a dog here, it's my Bichon --not the Yorkie. |
