 Experiences with your new puppy?
I just got my Yorkie puppy on Thanksgiving. He was 12 weeks old. I have never had anything other than Basset Hounds so I didn't know what to expect with a small dog. I have never had a new puppy that didn't cry all night when I first got him. This Yorkie has never done that, not even the first night. He doesn't even cry at night to go potty. He sleeps in his crate for at least 7 hours a night. I have to wake him up when I get up for work! After having him a week, we taught him to use the doggie door. He learned it in one day and has been going outside to potty ever since. We had an area rug in the family room and every once in awhile he would pee on that, but since removing that he has not had an accident in the house. I keep him in a pen during the day and come home at lunch to let him out. He has never had an accident in the pen. I know he cannot be potty trained so soon, but he is doing great! Have any of you had these same experiences with your Yorkie puppy? |
