I would really love to go to a show where I "knew" (even if just an acquaintance) that could explain to me what was going on. I still don't understand how the ranking system in shows goes, or how points are awarded, but I'd love to learn.
And if I may, to the person who said you can't learn much about "dogs" on this site.... well call me straight dumb since I've learned everything I know about caring for my pup on this site. Sure we have a lot of frills, puppy pads, fun, and straight out silliness here but I think I'm a better caregiver for Kaji than I could have ever been without this site. JMHO |
I agree, I also have learned so much about Yorkies and dogs in general on this site. And quite a bit about people too. I would also love to go to a show with someone and learn more about it. I'm constantly trying to learn more details on the Yorkies. I worked very hard to contribute positively with my first litter. Learned even more...had two pups that I believe are very close to "perfect" in everything except I believe they'll end up weighing too much (per the charts about 8 pounds expected though I know that's not set in stone at this point, still trying to figure how all that came to be), the third pup was off a bit in bite. Wish there was someone (that truly knows "show" Yorkies) in my area that could give the two pups a thorough evaluation.
At any rate I'll continue growing in knowledge and this site has helped.
Thanks to all.
