I would set up a space, a small crate or box, an upside down rubbermaid with a door cut in it, etc. A place where she can go to get away if she wants to, but where she is not penned.
I would ask the guests not to pick her up due to her surgery, they are old enough to understand, and hold her myself as much as possible.
