Try having your boyfriend be the one to feed her and give her treats all the time, not just when you are gone. The problem with shelter dogs is you don't know their history. She might have been abused, or she might have seen a man abusing a woman.
And as someone else said, nevr give her affection when she is in an unstable state of mind, it will only reinforce the behavior. |
