Yes it is, possible, they also can get hair wrapped around it which cuts off the circulation. the can also get infections.

I suggest that you remove the toy, and correct his behavior just like you would any other unwanted behavior.

I have had dogs all my life and have never had one that needed to hump toys, so it is not a needed activity. They can live perfectly happy, lives without it.

You would not allow them to do other activities that could cause injury, so why let them do this, knowing there are some very serious health risks.
