Congratulations on your new pup.

I prefer the wire crates with an adjustable divider that enables you to give your pup more room as she grows. You can cover the crate with a blanket or any piece of fabric if your pup wants more of the darker den feel. I bought mine at Walmart.

Some other things to have on hand and to do:

- an xpen
- a comfy bed
- stainless steel or chip resistant ceramic food and water bowls
- piddle pads
- babygates as needed, and other puppy-proofing accessories like electrical outlet covers (elevate or protect all electrical cords too)
- put all houseplants out of reach and make sure flower or leaf petals can't fall on the floor
