Your puppy can go to the groomer after the first 2 sets of shots. I think the third one adds rabies so not really necessary for grooming purposes. We usually trim pads and sanitary on first time puppies and if the puppy is too nervous we just turn on the clippers and turn them backwards and let the puppy hear the buzzing around her face with no actually clipping happening. Otherwise if he/she isn't too nervous maybe clip ear tips. If you want to clip around her eyes yourself buy some thinners for a more natural look. We never use sissors around the corners of the eyes. With the thinners you can clip pretty close to the eyes with no chance of poking. If your puppy jumps around alot just keep pretending to clip stuff and when she gets tires and stops moving for a couple seconds praise her like crazy. Don't put it off too long. Best to get her used to grooming ASAP. And nail trimming! |
