You make a good point, and while this is not something most pet owners deal with, people who are seriously thinking about breeding should be aware of it. I would hope people would be happy if a breeder has it in her contract that spaying/neutering is required if the dog does not finish. Also, those breeders who remain part owners tell me that they are more involved in what happens to their line, although, I have read that the prospective buyer/breeder are skeptical of this.
